All success starts with a plan

Recognizing that success starts with a plan is obvious, but it is also the most missing action among people.

In my case, the question arose when I considered the blog name ‘Life-Race’. The truth is that I did not have to think much to find the name. If you have seen the rest of my website, you will soon notice that running is one of my biggest passions.

Since childhood, I have always had a sporty mindset, even in real adult life when my body weight starts accumulating “on its own.” I found out that physical training is a must to avoid being a statistical number among the considerable group of obese people with illnesses like diabetes, too high levels of cholesterol, and various other diseases related to inadequate nutrition and lack of physical exercise.

Make it easy

On my web page, you can read more about my “crazy marathon “obsession.” Running is one of the most accessible sports to practice. Another good thing is that you don’t have to spend much money to get started and enjoy the sport efficiently and joyfully. The “heaviest” investment to make and necessary to do to minimize the risk of injuries is in a pair of good running sneakers. With $100, you are well covered in finding the shoes needed.

Furthermore, this sport can be practiced anywhere. Packaging the necessary running gear in a suitcase does not result in a significant loss of space. There exist only two valid “excuses” not to get out and run:

1) An infection in your body, something to take seriously, not to jeopardize your health, and even put your life in danger.

2) A lightning storm, which can be dangerous when out running

To combine my passion with my professional life, I needed a plan to balance my passion. I needed to find flexibility, time, and money in the same package, and yes, I Found It. Today, I have time to practice my passion. I have time to spend more time with my family. Additionally, I have the flexibility to be anywhere on the planet. I only need an internet connection….. and yes, I´m making money.

The goals have to be like the mountains: high but visible.

If you run just to stay fit without a training program, the risk is high that your running activity will be short-lived, and very soon, the excuses will start to dominate. I have passed through these phases several times.

One of the funniest training sessions I know about is the one on January 1st, when everyone who made New Year’s resolutions runs with an overdose of enthusiasm. Their outfits are usually brand new; in some cases, the price and brand tag are still not removed.

The sad side of this day, when enthusiasm and motivation flow as never before, is that the majority of these people have disappeared from the running track within a timed lap not exceeding a month.

For me, the change came when I decided to participate in my first marathon. Almost a year before the race, I took a step that allowed me to fulfill my goal. I made a Plan, and it was a challenging plan. It forced me to take it all seriously. The plan is the key to any successful project. Without a plan, you are strolling around in the dark without any horizon.

Have you ever seen an architect building a house without a construction drawing? Or a captain crossing the Atlantic Ocean without a nautical chart? For one simple reason, I decided to go for a full marathon: you just don’t run 42,195 meters without a plan. Life operates similarly, and without a plan, the likelihood of failure is high.

The Plan is our nautical chart.

In a certain sense, professional and private lives are intertwined. The Plan will serve as a guideline on how to reach the goal. A marathon race has the same needs as a professional careerThe plan for managing my race and career significantly determines whether I will achieve my goal. Whatever you’re up to, success starts with a plan.

True Desire, another name for Passion, requires a plan. You need to put in the effort to overcome the challenges and obstacles in several phases of an ambitious plan.

My Plan and the Why?

We can’t end this section without first seriously challenging our plan. All serious plans must have a well-defined final goal and various sub-goals. The sub-goals may require some reflection and thought through drilling, as they are typically more detailed and operational, supporting the path toward the final goal.

The vital exercise here is defining the final goal or the Global Plan. The litmus test would be to write down at least three of the most important goals in my Global Plan. Forget about how you express yourself, the grammar, or the spelling. If you don’t understand the three most important topics in your Global Plan in less than one minute, the risk is high that your Plan doesn’t fit into your real Passion or True Desire.

During the exercise I undertook to reach my Plan, it didn´t take me long before I arrived here, and from there, I began my journey into internet business.

With the environment in our daily lives, it’s not difficult to fall into the trap of creating a plan that doesn’t represent your real Passion. Apply a lot of auto-criticism when doing this exercise. Later on, it can save you a significant amount of time and effort.

We will discuss how to implement the established plan in five days´ time.
