The new baby boomer lifestyle may surprise you

Should a baby boomer lifestyle be different from other lifestyles? Yes and no.

On one side, the traditional baby boomer lifestyle didn’t include anything related to the Internet a few decades ago. All baby boomers developed a lifestyle without computers, smartphones, Facebook, Google, and Instagram.

In today’s environment, the baby boomer lifestyle offers multiple options thanks to the Internet and the online world. Often the modern online environment doesn’t relate to baby boomers in the first place.

Although baby boomers often are portrayed as the postwar generation of opportunity and optimism, many boomers worry about retirement and fail to prepare adequately for the transition from work to retirement.

Many boomers are planning to remain in the workforce beyond age 65 for various reasons. If it isn’t for nothing more than a consistent income and a sense of identity could be reason enough.

Getting older should be fun and joyful

Always remember: Retirement is meant to be enjoyed!

Even if the income could be a reason to continue working after retirement, (and indeed it’s a good and valid one), more available free time is another important cause. You would like to enjoy your retirement but work with something on your terms. Something you love to do.

After erasing the “dinosaur” excuses, the next step will be to leveraging your passions in life. In a Gallup research, it is found that 2015 only 32% of U.S. workers were engaged at work. It means that they feel a passion for what they are doing. Alarming figure!

You might still be questioning if the digital life will change your way of living and if this is a proper baby boomer lifestyle. While you think it through again, check this quote by Charles Darwin.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.”

Optimize Your Baby Boomer Lifestyle

Optimize Your Baby Boomer LifestyleThe digital lifestyle is here to stay. With you or without you, it will be the best lifestyle for baby boomers. Still doubting that this way of living will change your life? Well, here we go with some more real statistics.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is already called the next Industrial Revolution, and it will change the way all businesses, governments, and consumers interact with the physical world.

Here are some interesting data:

* There will be 64 billion devices with connections to the Internet by 2025, up from 10 billion in 2018.

* By 2006, 6% of the world population was connected to the Internet. For 2010, the figure grew to 26%, and by 2020 almost 100% will have a connection.

* The increasing growth of sales of Internet products and services that we can relate to information and education amount to $126 million per day.

Some years ago, I created the video “Why You Should Seriously Consider The Digital Lifestyle.” Usually, a video has a very short lifespan, but this shot is more valid than ever.

The perfect lifestyle for baby boomers is something that you can feel when you watch the video.

Age is one of the most common excuses for not giving it a try to achieve your new baby boomer lifestyle.

Age is a number, and it’s your motivation and willingness to give it a chance that will determine your success.
